My Music Story

My love for music began early. As a child, I spent hours on the old family piano in our garage — the yellowed keys might have been worn, but the joy I felt playing them was brand new every time. I didn’t know much about music back then, but I knew it made me feel at home.

Eventually, I began formal piano lessons and spent countless hours learning scales, arpeggios, and the classics by Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin. Looking back, I realize that music taught me much more than notes on a page — it taught me dedication, patience, and gave me a creative outlet that helped carry me through some of life’s hardest seasons.

I taught my very first student at fifteen, in between high school choir rehearsals, piano exams, and even practicing for my driver’s license. Around that same time, I discovered a passion for songwriting. By my senior year, I was teaching a full studio of fifty private students, recording my first album, and preparing for college music auditions.

Fast forward to today: I’m a wife, a mom, and I’ve been teaching for over twenty years. Some of my favorite memories include late-night songwriting sessions in the studio, leading worship alongside my husband, and seeing my students grow in confidence and character through music. Teaching isn’t just what I do — it’s one of my greatest joys.
